Sri Aurobindo (1872-1950) was a revolutionary yogi who spoke out for India's Independence and unification and devoted most of his life to bringing forth what he called a Supramental consciousness. He wrote that just as the evolutionary process brought life into matter and mind into life, that there is yet another stage - a Super Mental evolution, a new Being that will stand on the established bases of matter, life and mind.

In 1878 in Paris was born his counterpart in bringing forth the Supramental consciousness, known to her students as the Mother.

In 1926 they established an ashram in Pondicherry, India and spoke and wrote about the Supramental consciousness - a consciousness of unity, wherein all parts of the Being that we are become fully conscious and integrated ... coordinated. As yet we have not integrated the levels of our being afforded to us thus far by evolution. We are a mind at odds with our animal/emotional nature ... at odds with the material world. We are not yet an integrated or coordinated being. Sri Aurobindo and the Mother put forth the teaching that this Integration or Harmony of all parts of our Being, was immanent ... was descending as they put it.

In the book, The Tenth Day of Victory, Patrizia Norelli-Bachelet, writes of a period of time in her early 30's when she was "called" to Pondicherry by the Mother. This calling was not via the phone, or by any written correspondence. As the story goes, the Mother entered Norelli-Bachelet's mind and led her to her destiny in India. When the Mother died in 1973, Norelli-Bachelet encountered waves of energy as she stood in front of the Mother's body lying in state. She later wrote of the experience:

"In the weeks following the Mother's passing I felt the impact of what I had experienced before her as she lay in state. I realized that a new type of energy had come into me. At the time it seemed to be a Yoga Shakti for work, or more precisely the Work. For her work, for Sri Aurobindo's work. Everything that had come to me by way of knowledge concerning the future of their work in the world in the months prior to her passing, seemed now to acquire a certain determined focus. All the threads of the line of knowledge for the execution of this work were coming together; and this integration appeared to be connected to the power I had received at the Mother's passing. It gave me an unbounded energy."

The Mother never communicated directly on the physical plane to Norelli-Bachelet or to the students of the ashram regarding the new comer's role in continuing the descent of the Supramental consciousness. Unrecognized by followers of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother in Pondicherry for three decades, Norelli-Bachelet continues her work in Kodiakanal, Tamil Nadu, India.

The Gnostic Circle is one of Norelli-Bachelet's major contributions to the Supramental Yoga. The Gnostic Circle - a multi-layered circle with the division of the circle by 9 (the Enneagram) superimposed on the division of the circle by 12 ( the Zodiac) - is a key for understanding our evolution or how we are unfolding in time and space. The circle can represent both microcosmic and macrocosmic cycles of time - a day, a year, nine years, 72 years ... 25,920 years .... 311,040 years, etc. It represents the whole of what we are, the One Being evolving through various stages of manifestation, including eventually the manifestation of Heaven on Earth with a reigning species firmly established in Truth, Consciousness and Bliss (Sat Chit Ananda).

The applications of the Gnostic Circle are vast. It is a tool for understanding what we have been, what we are, and what we are becoming. Once historians, scientists, geologists, archeologists, mathematicians as well as cosmologists and spiritual seekers begin to understand the applications of the Gnostic Circle ... there will be a dramatic unveiling of the Supramental coordination that has always been present in all events of our lives and history, but has been hidden from our perceptions.

For instance, 3114 BCE - the beginning of the current Mayan Calendar - falls exactly on the ONE point of the Gnostic Circle. The chances of that being a coincidence seem not likely.

Sri Aurobindo did not think it was a coincidence that India gained independence on his birthday, August 15th. Is it a coincidence that the beginning of the Mayan Calendar, is said to be August 13^th of 3114?

The teachings of Sri Aurobindo, the Mother, and Norelli-Bachelet regarding the Supramental consciousness suggest that there is no such thing as random coincidence. They point towards a precision coordinating the micro and macrocosmic levels of our being. In their understanding, Time, as well as everything that manifests, is the direct expression of the Supramental Consciousness. In the Secrets of the Veda, Sri Aurobindo offers an illuminating perspective of the ancient Veda and the Vedic journey of Recovering the Lost Sun. It seems that the Lost Sun is the Supramental Consciousness. And that recovering this Consciousness is not simply the journey of one individual or one hero, but is the direction of evolution - the next step in evolution. It is worth considering that this Maha Yogi of our times, was a manifestation of Quetzalcoatl, who was an Avataric figure in South American lore - a "solar" deity, said to be destined to return to help establish a consciousness of unity on the planet. It is worth being curious that Sri Aurobindo and the Mother were born as a "pair", 6 years apart, in close conjunction with a pair of Venus eclipses (1874 and 1882). Some people believe that the return of this pair of eclipses every 110 years or so is symbolic of the return of Quetzalcoatl - who was closely associated with Venus the Morning Star.

It is worth considering that Patrizia Norelli-Bachelet is another Maha Yogi, essential to the "Recovery of the Lost Sun" or the descent of the Supramental Consciousness. She has offered up a tool, a "philosopher's stone", to help humanity understand its epic journey out of darkness towards full realization of the Oneness of the Being. One of Quetzacoatl's gift's to humanity is said to be setting the calendar straight, or orienting humanity correctly in time. Norelli-Bachelet bares this gift through her book The Gnostic Circle, yet she is clear that none of her orienting would be possible without the lives and work of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother.

People often think of the end of the Mayan Calendar and of the Apocalypse as described in St. John's Revelation as an end of the world. They do not often consider the meaning of the word "Apocalypse" which is akin to an unveiling of light. In this sense the Apocalypse promises an unveiling of what has been darkened or hidden to our perceptions and senses - an unveiling of the consciousness of unity.

If we follow Norelli-Bachelet's yoga, we can place the beginning of the current Mayan Era (said to be 5200 years, or one fifth of the Precession of the Equinoxes seen as 26,000 years) at the One Point of the Gnostic Circle, at 10 degrees Taurus in the Precession of the Equinoxes (in the "Age of Taurus"). We can see that 5184 years (one fifth or 72 degrees of the Precession of the Equinoxes seen as 25,920 years) lands us HERE in time, in a 72 year window, 28 degrees Aquarius, which takes us from 1998 to 2070. The Rig Veda, which some say is at least 5000 years old, describes this STEP from Taurus the Bull to the Aquarius, the Friend. The "steps" are taken by Vishnu, one of the divine trinity in the Hindu tradition. The Trinity is made up of Bramha the Creator, Vishnu the Preserver and Shiva the Destroyer. Vishnu, representing the guna (flow) of preservation, corresponds to the fixed signs of the Zodiac - Scorpio, Leo, Taurus and Aquarius. It is said that the Line of Ten Avatars who descend to assist the evolution of consciousness, appear in astrological ages ruled by fixed signs (associated with Vishnu - the Preserver). The Rig Veda reads:

Of Vishnu now I declare the mighty works, who has measured out

the earthly worlds and that seat of our self-accomplishing he supports,

he the wide-moving, in the threefold steps of his universal movement.

That Vishnu affirms on high by his mightiness and he is like a terrible LION

that ranges in the difficult places, yea, his lair is on the mountain-tops,

he in whose three wide movements all the worlds find their dwelling-place.

Let our strength and our thought go forward to Vishnu the all-pervading,

the wide-moving BULL whose dwelling-place is on the mountain,

he who being ONE has measured all this long and far-extending seat

of our self-accomplishing by only three of his strides.

He whose three steps are full of honey-wine and they perish not

but have ecstasy by the self-harmony of their nature; yea, he being ONE

holds the triple principle and earth and heaven also, even all the worlds.

May I attain to and enjoy that goal of his movements, the Delight,

where souls that seek the godhead have the rapture; for there in that HIGHEST STEP

of the wide-moving Vishnu is that FRIEND of men who is the fount of sweetness.

Those are the dwelling-places of ye twain which we desire as

the goal of our journey, where the many-horned herds of Light go traveling;

the HIGHEST SETP of wide-moving Vishnu shines down on us here

in its manifold vastness.

It appears that the rishis of the Rig Veda were aware that of the structure of the Gnostic Circle in which the Taurus of the zodiac contains the One of the Enneagram. The last step in the journey is from Taurus (the BULL, the ONE) to Aquarius (the FRIEND), where the herds of light are released from their holding pens ... i.e. the Apocalypse. So the expression in the Rig Veda of the"HIGHEST STEP" is operating on different levels of meaning, corresponding to the visual picture of the Gnostic Circle and corresponding to the Truth that this is the Step that brings us to the Highest realization - brings us to the Goal of our journey.

Curiously enough that same "highest" step is captured by the Aztec Sun Stone (also known as the Eagle's Bowl). The stone can be seen as a multidimensional calendar and a prophecy as well. We can imagine that the Sun Stone, like the Gnostic Circle, is a tool for tracking various time cycles, including the Year. If we can imagine that the Stone was also tracking the 26,000 year Precession of the Equinoxes and put the 0 point of the Precession at the top of the Stone, as Norelli-Bachelet has placed 0 degrees Aries at the top of the Gnostic Circle, then things get really interesting. A 72 degree section at the top of the Stone's circular form is encompassed by a pair of bound scrolls, four scrolls on each side. One set of the scrolls, seen in conjunction with the Gnostic Circle, falls in Taurus and encompass the One point and the other set falls in Aquarius (starting at approximately 24 degrees into the sign). What was hidden in the scrolls at the beginning of the Step ... what are we to find at the end of this Step, when the scrolls are opened and read?

In The Hidden Manna Norelli-Bachelet "opens and reads" St. John's Revelation of the Apocalypse. She writes that prophecy was bound or hidden by time, unable to be read until a certain Step in time had been made. She writes that this Step has been made, and that the advent foretold was the full descent of the Supramental consciousness.

Are we open to tracing, following the Steps of the One and open to beholding the manifold vastness of the One? Are we open to seeing that our One Being has been operating in a coordinated manner beyond our mental grasp through all time and all manifestation irrespective of the apparent disconnection and dis-similarities between the multitudes of people, places, and organic and inorganic life. Is this all too "outside the box" for us to handle or are we open to seeing what we have always been - One Being evolving in time and space together ... a Unified Being? Are we open to being Light ... to being many-horned herds of traveling Light, progressing as One Being, One Radiant "Sun"? It seems clear that our current predicament - in which we are many-horned herds of traveling darkness - is getting to be OLD and getting to be intolerable for our Earth and its inhabitants.

The Mathematical Signature of an Avatar: Signing his name in Time

The following accounting of Time with regards to the beginning of the Mayan Calendar on August 13, 3114 BCE and to the date of Sri Aurobindo's birth on Aug 15, 1872 is suggestive of a Supramental Coordination at work in our world, of a perfection and of a man, an avatar, a representative of the Sun or a Solar Consciousness - a Consciousness without shadows - who came to begin a process of Synthesis, Harmonization and Unification ... a process of dissolving the ignorance/divisions in various systems of spiritual and scientific knowledge by the light of our One Being. It seems that he has literally signed his name in Time ... Of course none of this is possible according to the limited ranges of the Mind and how we think things work and according to our cross-cultural and academic barriers; but perhaps we will be open to greater possibilities.

Beginning at 3114 BCE, if we move 2880 years or 40 degrees in the Precession of the Equinoxes, or one integer, we find our selves at the top of the Circle, at the end of one Precession and at the beginning of another - this point is 0 degrees Aries. Add another 234 years and we come to 0 AD, the beginning date of the Gregorian Calendar that we are now using. Add another 1872 years and we get the birth year of Sri Aurobindo. 1872 = 1440 + 432.

3114 BCE + 2880 BCE + 234 BCE = 0 AD

0 AD + 1440 AD + 432 AD = 1872

At first these numbers may not to seem to be of much consequence. And many might believe our current Gregorian system is the wrong system and doesn't have true universal value or wisdom. But if we look deeper into the number 1872 we see many things. We see that 1440 (half of 2880 years) plus 432 (the inverse of 234) equals 1872. 1440 is the number of minutes in a day and 4, 3, and 2 are the numbers of the radius of the Sun - 432,000 miles. As well, the ancient Vedic system of tracking time is based on a 432,000 unit Kali Yuga.

It gets even more interesting, 2880 plus 1440 is 4,320 years and 234 plus 432 is 666 years ... The number 666 has been forged in our minds as the "mark of the beast". But it is worth considering that 666 is a sacred number - the mark of an avatar or a Trinity of avatars that have come to draw out and annihilate the "Beast" - which is simply the reigning Ignorance/divisive consciousness of our civilization which devours the Truth and Energy of our Being and informs our mortality.

So Sri Aurobindo was born on August 15th, 4320 plus 666 years past the beginning of the Mayan Calendar on August 13^h, 3114 BCE. Can our minds throw that into the random coincidence bin?

4320 years is one sixth or 60 degrees of the Precession of the Equinoxes. Also we can see that 1998 = 666 x 3. According to The Gnostic Circle, 1998 was the beginning of our current 72 year passage through the 28th degree of Aquarius which will complete 72 degrees (one fifth) of Precession starting at 3114 BCE,

More "Random" Notes

The following calculations will probably make little sense to anyone who has not read and digested The Gnostic Circle, or to anyone without basic knowledge of the Mayan Calendar system, but perhaps the information will spark some curiosity.

If we divide 1872 by 2 we get 936 ... the numbers of the Trinity (3,6,9)

If we multiply 18 x 72 we get 1296. There are 1,296,000 degrees of celestial longitude in one full 25,920 year Precession of the Equinoxes (moving through 12 ages or 12 signs of the Zodiac).

If we divide 1872 by 8 we get 234, corresponding to the beginning of our current precession of the Equinoxes in 234 BCE (marking the end of what PNB calls the 8^th Manifestation - encompassing the Ages of Gemini, Taurus, and Aries. PNB writes that Krishna, the 8^th Evolutionary Avatar, clearly came in the Age of Taurus).

The square root of 1872 = 43.26661531.... the first three numbers resonating with the 432,000 mile radius of the sun. The next three numbers show us again the figure 666.

1872 divided by 1 Kali Yuga or 8640 years* is .2166666.... resonating with the 2160 mile diameter of the moon and the 2160 year Astrological Ages. (4 Astrological Ages equal 1 Kali Yuga: 4 x 2160 = 8640).

*The explanation for 8640 years as the length of a Kali Yuga can be found in PNB's The Gnostic Circle.

Modern "Vedic" astrologers for the most part do not agree with her seeing.

The Resonance of Sri Aurobindo's Birth Year with significant number factors in the Mayan Calendars: 13, 26, 36, 52, and 72

If we divide 1872 by 13 we get 144 (the square of 12 - the 12 representing the Zodiac).

If we divide 1872 by 9 we get 208.

If we divide 1872 by 18 we get 104 (104 = 2 x 52, 4 x 26 or 8 x 13).

If we divide 1872 divided by 20 = 93.6 ( again, the numbers of the Trinity).

If we divide 1872 by 26 we get 72.

If we divide 1872 by 36 we get 52.

13 is an essential division or factor in the Mayan Calendar. It seems they calculated the Precession of the Equinoxes based on 26,000 years (25,920 + 80 years). There are 13 baktuns (periods of 400 years) in one Mayan Era of 5200 years (5200 x 5 = 26,000).

20 is the base of the Mayan Vigesimal number system.

26 is a multiple of 13 and the Mayan Tzolkin Calendar is said to have 260 days. Whether it was only "days" the Tzolkin Calendar was measuring is questionable. We can see that 260 x 20 = 5200 years = one fifth of the Precession or approximately 72 degrees.

36 corresponds to the 360 degrees of the circle, the 360 of the Mayan Tun, the Precession of the Equinoxes and to our 365-day Earth year.

72 is the number of years in one degree of the 25,920 year Precession (72 x 360 = 25,920 years).

72.2222... is the number of years in one degree of the 26,000 year Precession (72.2222.... x 360 = 26,000). We can see that 1872 years divided by 25,920 years = .072222....; and 1872 years divided by 26,000 years = .072 (exactly)! How's that for bridging the gap between the Mayan and the Modern (actually ancient Vedic) ways of calculating the Precession of the Equinoxes.

52 (13 x 4) years is considered an important cycle in the Mayan Calendar.

The Aztec Sun Stone contains several divisions of the circle based on the factor 13 including a tier of 52, 104, and 208. The Stone's central division is a round of 20 glyphs each representing a different phase of movement through the circle. The division of 52 is represented by rectangles containing 5 dots (like the "5" side of a dice). 52 x 5 = 260 of the Mayan Tzolkin Calendar. This layer is on top of the round of 20 glyphs. If we multiply these rounds together 260 x 20 we get 5,200, the Mayan Era or one fifth of the Precession seen as 26,000 years.

The Mayan Calendar - born or proliferated in what PNB sees as the 8^th Manifestation (Ages Gemini, Taurus and Aries), in which Krishna manifested as the 8^th evolutionary Avatar - seems to have measured the Precession of the Equinoxes in terms of 26,000 years, corresponding numerologically to the number 8 (2 + 6 + 0 + 0 + 0 = 8). We are now in what PNB sees as the 9^th Manifestation (Ages of Pisces, Aquarius, and Capricorn), which brings the manifestation of the 9^th Evolutionary Avatar. Is it coincidental that our current measurement for the Precession of the Equinoxes, 25,920 years corresponds no longer to the 8, but to the 9 ( 2 + 5 + 9 + 2 + 0 = 18 = 1 + 8 = 9).
